ok. Pardon the lame title…![]()
Steph challenged us to BUGS this time. Which is awesome, since that is one subject where the macro lens really shines. Well, awesome except for the small fact that I REALLY HATE BUGS OF ALL KINDS.
Our rhododendron is is full bloom, which means there are no fewer than ten million bees around it at all times. It’s the biggest rhododendron I have ever seen–the thing has to be about 18 feet tall. Not even exaggerating. Nor am I exaggerating about the bees. If scientists are wondering where all the bees are going, they should come on over because I am pretty sure they are ALL HERE.
I think this photo could have been immensely better. If I were willing to get much closer. But world, this is really the best I could do. As it was, I was on the verge of freaking out the entire time. I TRIED to find some worms, or a little fuzzy caterpillar…no go. I even considered taking a self portrait in my new sunglasses, since my daughter informed me that I kinda look like a bug in them. But I stayed true to the challenge, and faced death by stinging for this….
(eeeh, it still makes me shudder a little!!)
Now you ABSOLUTELY have to head over to the Princeton House blog to see her bug! (have to say, she definitely wins this one!) ANd Thanks, Steph for this challenge…part of this series of challenges that I love the best is that it forces us out of our comfort zone and forces us to really challenge ourselves. Well done, friend!
